Being a bit nosey...
Just being nosey and curious really, wanted to know how everyone has ended being and online trader, do you do it full time? did you start fro the ground up or expand a B+M store to the online world?

Accidently paid supplier, they wont pay it back.. whats next?
I paid a supplier by Bank transfer just over a month ago by mistake, it wasn't much, just shy of £400. I emailed my contact immediately and they said they would get it sorted... several emails and attempted phone calls and im no longer getting a response from them. My question is how do i claim this money back? we are both UK limited companies so i know things like small claims is out the window.

Todays Strikes
So today is the big Strike day with the UK Border force out on strike, over 900,000 teachers and even the union that represents primary school headteachers out on strike for the first time in over 100 years. Not just the airports and schools though, hospitals and rail services are due to be affected as well. I even heard on the travel news this morning that both Mersey tunnels in Liverpool are closed due to the strikes. So, what do you make of it all?

How is it for you?
I feel a bit nervous about this but the question has to be asked. How is business? We started up on Amazon & EKM in Apr/May this year and things went brilliantly well for the first 3 months - then in August sales on both sites started to slide, September was worse and frankly I could cry about October. The big question I guess I'm most worried about is "Is it us?"...

Pricing Question
Quick Poll - How do you set your pricing. 1. Low to get as many orders as possible, 2. Slightly higher, less customers but more profit per order. There are plenty of benefits and detriments for both, but just seeing what the popular option is.

Underhand competitor. Livid!
Okay, so a few months back I received an email from my only competitor - www. football for fans . co . uk The Owner is someone called Mr. Garner He basically gave me a lecture on how hard this industry is to break into blah blah...and basically tried to warn me off from coming into the same line of business as himself. I knew his intentions, but I send back a polite email saying thanks for your help.

New Google category clasification
It's close, I know it's close because I can smell it.... still no change on our server so far. Has anyone got their paws on it? just thought I'd ask between optimizing images,
did I mention I was one month and 40% through optimizing and modifying images, don't ask me what's going on outside my shoebox though, want to talk about optimizing?...NOT A PROBLEM!!

Dragons Den
I think its interesting how the whole thing has changed, at the start it was people looking for money so they could invest it in thier business now its people looking for celebrity endorsement. It used to be, "the bank won't lend to me because its too risky", Now its "Yes I could go to the bank, but you are a celebrity and will get massive media covereage of you wearing to my salad spinning bobble hat"

London Riots
If anyone knows any rioters who are in Shaftesbury Avenue, get them to raid Angels Fancy Dress for me! Joking aside, where are the police, politicians et al? Oh, on holiday.... So where are the water cannon, tear gas ..... suppose we don't use them anymore, not like the rest of the world.

So upset ... wish I had never upgraded :-(
After advice on here about payment solutions, I applied to be upgraded to website payment pro as I had been using website payments standard for years. This has been approved today, however they have immediately put a reserve on my account of a 30 day rolling period. I am fuming!!! I run my business stock on a weekly basis so without access to funds now, my business is doomed. This is also our livelihood, we do not have any other income so how we are going to live with 2 children aswell I do not know as I now can't access funds until day 31.

Getty Images and getting caught using photos from Google - a warning
In May this year, I recieved a letter from a company called Getty Images. I had never heard of them. The image I had used from Google was theirs and they wanted £475 license fee. I ignored it but did remove the offending photograph. I now have a 2nd and final letter promising court action if I do not pay within 2 weeks. I am debating whether to call their bluff.

HMRC Taxman targetting online business
The tax authorities are going to use improved surveillance software to track down people trading on marketplace websites but failing to pay tax. HMRC said one of its new campaigns would try to identify regular sellers on eBay, Auto Trader, E-auctions, Amazon, Craigslist and Gumtree. Occasional sellers of personal items do not need to pay tax...
