Quick question for all you VAT registered ebayers. Just wondering how you work out your VAT on ebay sales - as in, do you input every single ebay transaction through your accounting software? we currently input EKM sales through the accounting software but if we had to do all the ebay ones daily we would be at it for litteraly hours. We have just registered and have vast amounts of unknowns on the topic.
Any help greatly appreciated

Hi,

Really after a response from EKM but im sure other would also like to hear back about this.

I have seen a few times people being told out of the blue about needing to move to a VPS and paying £180 a month with relatively low traffic

I just wanted to know if I can find out how close I am to the limit, how I can continue checking this so I can plan my next move and if any more reasonable packages are being introduced for larger bandwidth? maybe paying for 2 subscriptions for twice the bandwidth?

Despite some problems I do like being on EKM and look forward to new features but this VPS issue scares me and i cant justify paying £180 a month.

Just a heads up if you process through the HSBC payment gateway...

even if you are PCI compliant make sure your account is linked,
we do counter sales processing via terminal and on-line under the HSBC services, on-line was linked to Security Metrics but they lost the fact that 1+1=2 and didn't link both accounts, easily sorted out with a phone call in our case.
either way, if you process through HSBC and your not PCI compliant from 25th June 2012 you will be charged a non compliance fee from HSBC of £50 per month, also if your processing is found to be non-compliant a fine of up to £10,000 can be applied.

get it right, read the correspondence letters and make sure you're linked.

Hi all, recently started using ppi, we were told we can take our post and dispatch books to sorting office or post office, only problem is that sorting office has told my partner she now needs to take them to post office (even though I popped in the week before we started ppi to check and they said it was OK) and the local post offices don't have a clue what they are doing with the dispatch books so not sure my post is safe with them.

I have been using smart stamp for the past 2 years and spend enough for free collection but since smart stamp crashed over Xmas they have lost all my account spending before Dec 2011 so trying to get free collection sorted

Should I be able to take this to the sorting office?

Cheers

All day today and yesterday looking for the most simple of things...

All I want is to know if I can get inventory software for eBay that will simply tell me when im out of stock so I can order more and re-list, eBay has nothing (not even the Selling manager Pro inventory wont do this)

The only option it seems is to pay silly money for Channel Grabber just simply for this this one feature (I already use Tradebox and Sage and perfectly happy with them)

Does anyone know any software or service that will simply tell me what stock I have of what on eBay at a glance and show me what stock I have that isn't currently listed on eBay?

Cheers

Just after a little bit of advice if I can. I've come across a website with a similar web address to mine selling some very similar products. It was brought to light by a friend who was wanting to buy a particular dog toy she knows I sell and couldn't find it - it took us a few minutes to realise she was looking at a competitors website.

Mine is: http://www.thecompletecanine.co.uk and my competitors is http://www.completecanine.co.uk

Now, I'm not worried about competition as I do believe it is quite healthy and (hopefully) keeps me on top of my game! My question is though - is there anything I can do to help my customers get to my website rather than this one? We do have quite a few similar items although many of them are different so I do think that helps but I would like to work to get as high in the rankings as possible - is it just to keep focussing on my content?

Also, I notice that in their contact details they have registered as a Ltd company whereas I'm still a sole trader (after chatting with my accountant) - would there be any problems if at a later date I was wanting to register 'The Complete Canine' as a ltd company compared to 'Complete Canine'? Just wanting to find out possible hurdles and any suggestions will be muchly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

Hi all; need some advice on what I can do (if anything)...

In my industry, I am one of ~5 'serious' service providers. One of my main competitors has set up a couple of websites acting as 'review sites' for my industry. Funnily enough, they always rate their site as number 1 (surprise surprise). What bugs me is that not only are they fake, they are starting to saturate the SERPS and are 'tricking' people into thinking they have reviewed services, when they haven't.

In some ways, I shouldn't moan, as they rate my company within the top 3; however, I know, without doubt, the man setting these up is a 'Business Development Manager' for my competitor.

Is there anything I can do?
